Today is "one of those days" where things aren't quite going my way, and although I'm able to recognize that it's *me* that is the problem, that doesn't seem to help all that much. :>) I finally took a minute to open the e-mail I get every weekday from Word of God and it was awesome enough to raise goosebumps and make me write this post immediately.

God is our refuge and strength. (Psalm 46:1)
O Lord, support us all the day long,
until the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over, and our work is done.
Then, in your mercy, grant us a safe lodging
and a holy rest, and peace at the last.
Ven. John Henry Newman, 19th century

Amen! Thank you for sharing this. I'll say a little prayer for you. I had one of those days yesterday...
ReplyDeleteI read things quite often from my devotional, Bible, etc. that are PERFECT for however I'm feeling that particular day, isn't it great! God cares, and loves you so much, He meant for you read that today.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on the bad day today. I had a killer migraine that sent me to bed as soon as Monte got home at 3:00 this afternoon. I JUST got up at midnight, and my migraine is gone (thank goodness!!) but how will I ever sleep now?! I had so much I wanted to get done today, but couldn't manage to do a single thing. :(
I'm praying your day goes better tomorrow!
I have had the same situation happen to me and boy, does it remind me of how God is in charge and how helpless I am without Him.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for those emails. I could use some inspiration daily.
